His mother taught him the rudiments of the Servant arts, while his father instructed him in etiquette, music and courtly manner. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Dragonborn conditions. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
