The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He left for the west, certain he would find work there.

Personality: River wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Warlock, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... He cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist he will grow angry at them.

History: Born to a Knight, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Through the years after River was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. River's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
