History: Born in the south his family was never financially stable. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: Gifted from a young age, Qualen studied abroad. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of specialists.
