Personality: He has always had a great fascination with Halfling culture. He has a taste for the finer things and spends a great deal of money on luxuries, some more exotic than others.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Faran grew up listening to his mother's many stories. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Halfling activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Halfling doctor. In his journeys he found a malevolent artifact. He wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.

Personality: He hates drow. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. Shamash enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: He comes from a rich western family. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud.
