He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the south; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He likes to make people angry or surprised. Energy wise he seems alert and responsive.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. From his teen years he was always beautiful and desirable, so people have always doted on him. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Spear was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and many illithids want him driven away
