Personality: Kaladan wants to be seen as a stoic, levelheaded, noble Expert, so he tries to act the part. He does a good job, for the most part... History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He found a children's book about a Dragonborn Expert who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.

However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: To be a Soapmaker again; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
