Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by brigands. Varis was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Ostracized due to the divine powers of his oldest brother, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Dragonborns became a terror of the countryside. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Ploughman they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Carter, and he later adopted a second son.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He was granted divine powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
