Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. At a young age his mother died while driving off some orcs. His father being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in longbow use. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by orcs. Nykkan was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the orcs.

His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
