He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Personality: He is a very philanthropic person; he spends his free time working at various soup kitchens. He believes the world needs to unite to get rid of dire rats once and for all.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Thorin was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it
