He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He tends to his Carter job now, and dutifully fulfills any obligations he has.

History: Oppleby was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents were killed by orcs in a raid when he was still a young child. The orcs captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
