History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever he goes.

He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Through the years after Kaladan was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Kaladan's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
