History: Skirt was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Monk, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Monk in service of a powerful lord somewhere. History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. Through the years after Zaffrab was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Zaffrab's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
