To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Valafar. Being a Carter kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Cursed with vampirism at a very young age, Justin has worked very hard to control his curse. He struck the Stableman job and began his own company from there.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and expand his business
