History: He was born at the edge of vast desert. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Shane grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Shane. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by illithids. Shane was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. Through the years after Ortegar was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Ortegar's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has dedicated himself to building a better world.
