History: Valafar was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Tiefling activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Tiefling doctor. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Valafar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions
