History: Born in the west to a Bookbinder, Arannis learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Bookbinder work with an outfit from a few towns over. Bookbinder work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the illithids.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by illithids, and he desires to right it
