History: Alston hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Alston alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has dedicated himself to building a better trade route.

Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Qualen embodies much of what other species detest in the Gnomes. He receives visions of the future at random moments

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. Through the years after Qualen was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Qualen's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
