History: Halimath was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Monk, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Monk in service of a powerful lord somewhere. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Halimath alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Personality: His tongue was cut out and he uses sign language. The war was a terrible time for him, and Thamior does not often speak of it. When he does, he does so with a strained expression and tears in his eyes.

History: He was born in a small desert village. Being born in the north, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the north for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way south. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found.

Personality: He hates Gnomes with a passion. As such he is filled with self loathing. He is a ruthless business man, a trait he acquired from his mother.

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Ploughman. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Ploughman responsibilities is difficult; and gnomish compassion

History: Gifted from a young age, Garl studied abroad. Since his father passed away years ago, his mother had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: Ribbles is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. He has a small toy that he constantly fidgets with.

History: Born in the west to a Guard, Ribbles learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A gifted student he started as a Banker, but he got bored and became a Guard. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: He has money and likes to spend it; and money/treasure
