He is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Gnome in existence. The war was a terrible time for him, and Cockaby does not often speak of it. History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. He found a children's book about a Half-Elf Bard who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Hunter. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
