History: Born in the east his family was never financially stable. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Gnomish people; and a rival would like him out of the picture

History: Marbas was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His parents were killed by drow in a raid when he was still a young child. The drow captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and to be a beggar again
