History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. He married young, but lost his spouse to illithids. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

At a young age his father died while driving off some goblins. His mother being the stubborn sort decided to stay and helped train him in axe use. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to goblins demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by goblins, and he desires to right it

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Tree was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.
