History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He inherited a moderately successful company from his father. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: Born in the north to a Carter, Valorean learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Carter.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Kairon was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Miller work with an outfit from a few towns over. Miller work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 12 years.

History: Tim was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered south to less war torn lands. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 5 years.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the south; and he is not mentally stable, and does not behave rationally
