Personality: He hates giants. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: Rurik was born in the north. At a young age he loved to build and create. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting giants, the young Rurik began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His parents were killed by goblins in a raid when he was still a young child. The goblins captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
