Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Trail was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the giants.

He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

History: When he was but 3 years old his parents immigrated from the north. Through the years after Chay was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Chay's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.
