History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when drow swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. Like his mother and his sister before him, after school he went straight into learning to become a Marshal. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to drow demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many drow want him driven away.

He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He is obsessed with finding treasure.

History: Roland was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Sorcerer, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere.
