When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Laborer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Laborer.

He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Scribe. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

His father was a soldier and died while he was still young. Ugarth was left his father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
