History: A powerful brothel owner made him what he is. Through the years after Charles was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Charles's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes dire rats are coming to abduct people. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Fonkin alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He's also a talented Stableman, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

History: Thamuz hails from a village terrorized by dire rats. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
