History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Barendd alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has dedicated himself to building a better kind of golem.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs.
