History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. History: He comes from a rich northern family. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: Confrontational and typically high on some drug or another. He cannot resist a sob story and will often dote over anyone who has one.

History: Tricking lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His mother disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his mother, he was betrayed dozens of times. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: An old rival family wants him found.

Personality: He is happy with his job as a Blacksmith. He turns his eye from what people do, preferring to live and let live. He is kind towards other men and children and will generally offer men help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to him.

History: Born in the north to a Blacksmith, Gruk learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered drow who tried to eat his hand. He's also a talented Tanner, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Motivation: Wants to open a new tavern; and someone believes him a fraud
