Aside from being a slave or a gladiator, there isn't much legitimate work for Half-Elves in Gerard's homeland. Gerard decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He was forced to fight in gladiatorial arenas alongside his partner. They became the best of friends and one day they managed to break out together and then went their separate ways.

Personality: He is filled with cunning. He likes to feign weakness letting people think he is weak. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: He was born in the north. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature glaive.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends; and he has money and likes to spend it

Personality: He can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. He has a habit of throwing himself into exceedingly dangerous situations.

History: His martial talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Dyer work with an outfit from a few towns over. Dyer work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. Varis was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Varis decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Some 7 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Varis never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
