History: Smoking was born in the south. At a young age he loved to build and create. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Tabaxi activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Tabaxi doctor. Some 6 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Smoking never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Rurik was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Rurik's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He would ruin relationships and cause injury. He was reprimanded several times before being given his current form and forced to learn humility.
