Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He does suffer from mild PTSD, and the sight of dire rats may trigger it at times.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. Qualen was born on a far northern forest where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Healer. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Qualen was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Qualen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
