His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs; and his religion dominates his actions

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Mayor they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Masseuse, and he later adopted a second daughter.
