Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying east to reunite his family. Personality: He barks his statements quickly and with little fuss. He prefers small words and is at his heart utilitarian. He is an amazing painter.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Dyer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east.

History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He was granted arcane powers by his dying sister.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: Born in the south to a Guard, Gimgen learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Guard for hire.
