History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Cartwright and was forced into it by his family; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Serpent was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.
