Personality: Overbrimming with self-confidence, Howard isn't afraid of most anything. He has a strong dislike to people who do not believe in Halfling unity. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting orcs, the young Howard began to lead the lost caravan. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Ostracized due to the martial powers of his oldest sister, he and his siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Gnomes became a terror of the countryside. Lacking all sense, he decided to go on an adventure. He picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Born to a Sailor, his father struggled to pay the bills. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
