History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

History: When he was but 5 years old his parents immigrated from the north. His mother was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his mother was legitimate. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
