History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. His mother was a soldier and died while he was still young. Raer was left his mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. Through the years after Mehen was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Mehen's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 2 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Mehen never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
