History: A powerful wizard made him what he is. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Arannis grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Arannis. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Unemployed but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Unemployed hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: To be a Layabout again.

History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the west. He always admired necromantic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Soapmaker.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. His childhood dream was to be a Fletcher, but he was a colossal failure. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Cartwright for hire.

Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Cartwright responsibilities is difficult; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
