History: The child of northern immigrants he idolized his mother. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. Being a Shoemaker kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. After coming to the age of reason, River took it upon himself to study the arcane arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Dyer for hire.
