History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. Through the years after Bernard was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Bernard's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Bernard and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and seeks redemption

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Halfling companion (his 'brother'). He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
