His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Hoshû was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Hoshû's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Description: This malnourished man wears a simple black robe with tan stripes complete with hood. His red hair is cut jaggedly and amateurishly. He has gleaming, smiling blue eyes.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. His parents were killed by dire rats in a raid when he was still a young child. The dire rats captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Arannis was horrified and prayed that his mother was alright. However, he heard that his mother had died fighting off the dire rats.

Motivation: Revenge; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
