History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Flame was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

History: He was born in the north. In his 16th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Heian alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Ploughman for hire.

Motivation: He wants revenge against giants; and he desires power and/or immortality

History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the south. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.
