He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Shoemaker. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Direcris was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: He was born in the south. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Oppleby grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Oppleby. He left for the south, certain he would find work there.
