History: He was raised in a desert tribe. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the desert to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the desert due to the painful memories there. Hûmgrat took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up greatsword and armor he uses now. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Lance was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A few years later when the north was not economically sound they moved to his current location. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Commoner in service of a powerful lord somewhere. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He spent several years traveling with his friend, before both settled down to enjoy the fruits of their adventures.
