Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Spice Merchant they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Bookbinder, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

He found a children's book about a Human Warlock who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: Heir to a fortune, his parents put a great deal of effort into curing his disease. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
