History: He was born to a criminal king-pin and mafia family River was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. River decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. After a long history of fighting, River and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He's also a talented Brewer, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Personality: Always inclined to offer people food he seems plenty friendly. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: He was born into a rich family. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Raer grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Raer. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Personality: He is fixated on the number 49. He counts his steps and bites of food to keep in track with it. He seems to be used to being ignored and not questioned about it. He enjoys reading and quiet.

History: When he was but 4 years old his parents immigrated from the south. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
