History: Born to a Butcher, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Gnomes in the west were limited. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Butcher. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Baern was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. History: He was always a brilliant, if unscrupulous mind. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.
