His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Cook they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Guard, and he later adopted a second daughter.

History: Chad was raised in a hard working conservative environment. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He hates dire rats. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He loves teas. He is very sensitive about his face. To blow off anger he lifts weights and to control his otherwise explosive temper he works out a lot.

History: Spear was born with his mother's beautiful face. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying east to reunite his family. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: Many dire rats want him driven away.
