History: Born in the east to a Ploughman, Veit learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Shifting hails from a village terrorized by illithids. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has dedicated himself to building a better village for his children.

Motivation: He wants revenge against illithids.
